When we hear the word Hawaii, we think about paradise. And usualy paradise is costly. But not Honolulu – the HI Honolulu University is outside the busy downtown, ideal if you have a car, as free parking is possible on site.
The hostel has female and male dorms with separate entrances and one private room, which is in the other building. The shared bathrooms are big and you´ll get to learn how to use a hawaiian shower 🙂
The common area is a TV room with a vending machine for drinks, outside garden, where you can sit and enjoy the lush hawaiian vegetation. A good equiped kitchen is free to use, at the reception you can book a round the island tour or borrow books and free wifi is working just fine everywhere in the hostel.
We met all sorts of people there – from young to old, single, couples and families. It suits everyone. And not to forget – Sue knows so much about the island, just ask her and she will turn into an open book.
